Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app causes problems or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the problems by clearing the apps cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, including personalized settings, login information, user profiles etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Launch Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- If necessary, switch to See all apps
- Select the desired app and tap Storage
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the cache didnt help, tap Clear data (check the WARNING above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Device:
NOTE: Before factory resetting the phone, make sure youve backed up all of your data.
- Open Settings
- Go to System and tap Reset options
- To reset network settings, tap Reset Wi-fi Mobile & Bluetooth
- Tap Reset two times
- To reset apps settings, go to Reset app preferences then tap Reset apps
- To factory reset the phone, tap Erase all data (Factory Reset) > Reset phone > Erase Everything
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove Apps:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default.
- Press and hold power
- Tap and hold Power off in the power management pop-up
- After the phone finishes rebooting, a Safe Mode watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
- Open Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps if necessary
- Select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot the device normally
