Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app causes problems or takes up too much storage, you can try fixing the app by clearing its cache or data. WARNING! by clearing an apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including login information, custom settings, user profiles etc. To avoid losing your personal app data, clear the app cache only.
- Launch Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps
- Select the desired app and tap Storage
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt help, tap Clear data instead
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Phone:
NOTE: Make sure youve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the device.
- Launch Settings
- Go to System > Reset options
- To reset network settings, access Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth then tap Reset two times to confirm
- To reset app settings, access Reset app preferences and tap Reset apps
- To factory reset the device, tap Erase all data (Factory Reset) then tap Reset phone > Erase everything
Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall Apps:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default. To reboot to Safe Mode:
- Press and hold Power on the home screen
- From the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- Wait for the phone to reboot. After the phone finishes rebooting, you should see a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- Launch Settings and access Apps & Notifications
- If necessary, switch to See all apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- Once done, exit Safe Mode by rebooting the device as you would normally do
