Clear App Data/Cache:
NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up more storage than it should, you might be able to fix the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! By clearing the apps data, all of your personal data located within the app will be deleted. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Launch Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps and select the desired app
- Tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt fix the problems, tap Clear data (check the WARNING above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:
NOTE: Make sure youve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the phone to avoid losing it permanently.
- Open Settings and go to System
- Tap Reset options
- To reset network settings, tap Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth
- Tap Reset two times
- To reset app settings, tap Reset app preferences > Reset apps
- To factory reset the device, tap Erase all data (Factory Reset) > Reset phone > Erase Everything
Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall Apps:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.
- Press and hold power while on the home screen
- From the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off and accept to boot to Safe Mode
- After the device reboots, a Safe Mode watermark should be visible on the home screen. Open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot the device normally
