Well, I had AT&T, which I bought $25 cards and it gave me around 70 minutes. If you talk a lot this is a horrible way to go, becasue you end up spending a ton of money. But If you only talk about 5 minutes a day, you might want to try virgin mobile. My sister had them and I think they might be a little bit less $$. Keep in mind that the minutes generally expire between 30 and 60 days. If you talk anymore then this, I strongly recommend you get a monthly plan!

Boost mobile is a pretty good prepaid service. Nextel's iDEN network is good and reception is great.

I did alot of shopping around for prepaid service, its about industry standard to charge .25 cents a minute and keep balances active for 90 days. ATT however is alot more affordable, for just below 50 dollars a month you can get 440 minutes and free weekends. 50/0.25 is 200 minutes where 50/440 is about 11 cents a minute, plus the weekend minutes, also incoming texting is free, outgoing is one minute. It works out to around 19 minutes a day of talk time.

Boost is .25 cents a minute PERIOD, and if you use direct connect then it automatically charges a 1.50 to the balance and you have unlimited nationwide direct connect for the day.

Virgin Mobile is .25 cents a minute, no matter what day, and after the first 10 minutes in a day it changes to .10 cents a minute.
Winners don't try, winners get the job done then go home and $%^& the prom queen

5 min a day is 150 min a month! At that kind of usage, you really should consider a plan. Many of the major companies offer low minute / low priced plans.

Prepaid is for people who will use thier phones for about 60 or so mins a month.

    I have done intensive research!

    Prepaid Wireless is not Prepaid-wireless!

I do have found some plans and offers, who are even better than
    a regular "Contract"!

Some "Prepaid-plans " even offer unlimited nights and weekends with
no roaming and included long distance!

    Sprint-Network:
    A Prepaid-company with the name "Road-com"
is offering unlimited nights and weekends for about $ 35
and the phone works on the entire "Sprint" Network!
Dealers are available at the "TA" and "Petro" Truckstops!

    B.t.w.: I did had a Cellular-Prepaid-phone with "Liberty Wireless":
The company "Liberty wireless" is sucks and they ripoff Customers,
    ( 124 Complaints are filed : www.ripoffreport.com )
but the phone was working great in the "Sprint" Network!
SPRINT now has a awesome Coverage-Area, and cristal-clear communication!

    Verizon:
Offers a "Deal" for about $ 30 and unlimited nights, included long distance and no roaming!
Also included: ....unlimited 24/7 "Verizon to Verizon" Calling!

    Cingular and AT&T:
offer a "Prepaid-plan" for about $ 30 with unlimted "Cingular to cingular" Calling ,
... and in Tuscon/Arizona I have seen the same plan for only $ 15
    included unlimted N & WK.

    ALLTEL:
    A Plan for about $ 25 with 100 daytime-Minutes and 1000 Nights and weekends.
    Liberty Wireless & Wirefly:
as of today, there are 124 Complaints
    filed with: www.ripoffreport.com

Ralix.com is by far the BEST prepaid provider I have seen yet. And they are on Sprint's network and are the only one I have seen to offer FREE Nights & Weekends on a PREPAID phone. The minutes are cheap too. and of course their is free roaming, caller id, voicemail, and all that stuff. I have used alltel, net10/tracfone, and verizon and I like ralix by FAR (even tho they are a smaller company). This is what got me to pick ralix. http://www.ralix.com/compareus.htm

    their website is just ralix.com.

You could try PagePlus. It offers good prepaid service off of the Verizon network. It is CHEAP and you can use any Verizon Phone or buy one of there starter pakages. ( http://store.yahoo.com/pagepluscellular/index.html ) Also, you could try Beyond Wireless. They run off of AT&T's old TDMA network. They are the CHEAPEST prepaid. Check them out at www.beyondwireless.com
