In order to transfer content from an Android smartphone to the HTC One, youll need to download and install the HTC Transfer Tool on the other Android device. In order to use the HTC Transfer Tool, your old device needs to run on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS or later.
Does device have the Android 2.2 OS (or an earlier version)? Dont worry! Youll still be able to transfer the files via Bluetooth.
Transferring Content from an Android smartphone to the HTC One via HTC Transfer Tool
1. In case youre just setting up your HTC One for the first time, select to transfer content -> then from the Set up phone screen, tap Transfer from old phone. If you've already set up your HTC One, then go to Settings -> tap Transfer content.
2. Now select if youll be transferring files from an Android device or an old HTC smartphone.
3. If you havent already, on your old smartphone, download and install the HTC Transfer Tool.
4. Then follow the instructions on both your HTC One and the older phone to connect them. Youll then see a PIN number on your old device, make sure your HTC One displays the same PIN number before you proceed further.
5. On your old Android smartphone, select the type of content that youd like to transfer, such as Photos, Contacts, Messages, Videos, Calendar events, Web Bookmarks, Music, etc.
6. Then tap Start.
7. Now youll just have to wait for the transfer to finish.
Transferring Content from an Old Android smartphone to Your HTC One via Bluetooth
If your old smartphone has the Android 2.2 OS (or an earlier version), or you want to transfer files from another type of device, you can use Bluetooth to transfer your contacts. Depending on the capabilities of the other device, you may be able to transfer other data, such as messages or calendar events to your HTC One.
1. In case youre just setting up your HTC One for the first time, select to transfer content -> then from the Set up phone screen, tap Transfer from old phone. If you already set up your HTC One, then go to Settings -> tap Transfer content.
2. Then tap Other and select the phone name and model of your old smartphone.
3. Then on your old device, turn the Bluetooth ON and make sure to set it to discoverable mode.
4. Pair your old device and the HTC One using the on-screen instructions.
5. Then select the type of files youd like to transfer.
6. Now youll have to wait for the transfer to finish.
7. And thats it! Youve managed to transfer your content to the HTC One.
Other Useful Ways to Transfer Your Contacts or Other Files to the HTC One
But there are a few other ways to transfer your contacts or other content to your HTC One. For example, you can:
1. Sync the HTC One with your computer and then use HTC Sync Manager to sync your documents, contacts, playlists, and more between your Mac or Windows computer and the HTC One.

3. Another useful way to import your contacts from another device to your HTC One is by using Gmail. Simply sign in to your Google Account from the HTC One and sync your contacts.
4. The HTC One can also sync your work contacts from the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Server to your workplace.
