Turn On Power Saver Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Power” > “power saver”
  4. Tick the check boxes next to the features you wish to enable during Power Saver Mode
  5. Tap the switch to enable Power Saver

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, you might be able to prolong the phone’s battery autonomy in the long run.

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap the switches next to “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” to set them “OFF”
  3. Scroll to “Wireless & networks” and tap “More”
  4. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and disable “Mobile Hotspot”
  5. Return to “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
  6. Tap “Location” (GPS) > “Mode” and select “Battery saving”

Decrease the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Display & gestures”
  3. Tap “Brightness level” and if necessary, disable “Automatic brightness”
  4. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
  5. Return to “Display & Gestures” and tap “Screen timeout”
  6. Select a lower timeout value and press “Back”

Change Sync Settings and Disable Background Data:

NOTE: By setting your accounts / apps / phone to sync less data or less regularly, you can improve battery performance in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “Accounts & sync”
  3. Select an application to disable background data for the specific app
  4. To access the sync options, tap an account. NOTE: Sync options will differ based on the type of account

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Mobile data” > “Network mode”
  3. Tap “GSM only” to turn on 2G only
  4. To switch to 3G / 4G, chose “WCDMA only” or “GSM / WCDMA auto” / “GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Some third party apps can affect your phone’s battery life even if you don’t actively use them. This is due to the fact that certain apps run regular processes / tasks in the background. As such, you might be able to improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Apps”
  4. Swipe to the “Downloaded” tab
  5. Select an app and tap “Disable”
  6. To completely remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: Certain software updates can include battery life improvements, thus you should keep your phone updated at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Phone”
  2. Tap “About” > “Software information”
  3. Tap “Check now”. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it
