Turn On Power Saver Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Power” > “Power saver”
  4. Tick the boxes associated with the features you want to turn on during Power Saving mode
  5. Tap the switch to enable “Power saver”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not in use (Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS), you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Tap the switches next to “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” to disable the features
  4. Tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
  5. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and disable “Mobile hotspot”
  6. Return to “Settings”
  7. Tap “Location” (GPS) under “Personal”
  8. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”

Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the “Setings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Display & Gestures”
  3. Tap “Brightness level”
  4. If necessary, disable “Automatic brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease
  6. Return to “Display & Gestures”
  7. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some of your third party applications can affect your phone’s battery performance even when you don’t use them – assuming that the apps perform regular background processes. As such you might be able to improve battery life in the long run by disabling or removing unused third party apps.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Apps”
  4. Access the “Downloaded” tab
  5. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” to turn it off
  6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Change Sync Settings and Disable Background Data:

NOTE: By setting your phone / accounts to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the “Settings”
  2. Tap “Accounts & sync”
  3. Select an app to disable background sync for it
  4. For additional sync options, select an account (available sync option will differ from one account type to another)

Use 2G instead of 4G:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “Mobile data” > “Network mode”
  3. Tap “GSM only” to restrict network connectivity to 2G

Keep the OS Up to Date:

NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, thus it’s recommended that you keep your phone updated at all times. To check if new updates are available:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “About” under “Phone”
  3. Tap “Software information”
  4. Tap “Check now”. In case an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to apply it
