Back Up Data to Google Drive:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to and tap Backup & reset
- Tap Backup account > HTC account
- Sign in with your HTC account, if necessary, or alternatively use a Google or Facebook account
- Tap Google Drive in the Cloud Storage menu
- Tap OK
- Sign in with your Google account to gain access to Drive
- Tap Back up now and optionally, enable Automatic backup
NOTE: To perform daily auto backups over Wi-Fi, go to Settings > Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi
Restore Data from Google Drive After Fresh Reset:
- When you first sign in with your Google account after a factory reset, you will be asked to Restore from HTC Backup
- Select to restore data
- Register the Google backup account
- Go to history and select the desired backup to restore
- Tap Next and allow Drive to connect
- Once the files have been restored, tap Next
Back up & Restore Data Locally
Back Up Contacts on Storage / SD Card:
- Tap Phone on the home screen
- Access the Phone tab
- Tap Menu > Manage contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts
- Select to Export to SD Card or Export to phone storage
- Select an account and optionally, set a password for the backup file by tapping Yes
- Press OK to confirm
Restore Contacts from SD Card / Storage:
- Launch People
- Go to the Phone tab and tap Menu
- Tap Manage contacts > Import / Export contacts
- Tap Import from storage
- Select an account if necessary, and tap the backup file to restore
- Tap OK to confirm
- If the backup file is protected by a password, enter it and tap OK
Back Up Messages:
- Tap Messages on the home screen
- Tap Menu > Backup & Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > Back up SMS
- Optionally you can set a password for the backup file
- Enter the desired file name and tap OK
Back Up Messages via Email:
- Open Messages
- Tap Menu > Back up / Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > Back up SMS via email
- Select whether to password protect the file
- Send the email to your own address
NOTE: To restore messages from an email, download the backup file attachment and import it via Messages
Back Up Dictionaries:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to and tap Language & Keyboard
- Tap HTC Sense Input
- Tap Personal dictionary > Menu
- Select to Back up to storage or Back up to email
- Tap OK
Back Up & Restore Tasks:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Tasks
- Tap Menu > Import / Export
- Select to Export to SD card
NOTE: To restore tasks, open Tasks and tap Menu > Import / Export. Next, tap Import from SD card and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.
