Back Up Data to Google Drive:
- Launch Settings
- Tap Backup & reset > Backup account
- Select HTC Account and, if necessary, sign in with your HTC account (or a Google account)
- In the Cloud Storage menu, tap Google Drive
- Tap OK and sign in with your Google account to access Google Drive
- Turn on Automatic Backup or tap Back up now to back up data manually
NOTE: To allow daily auto backups over Wi-Fi, access Settings and go to Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi
Restore Data from Google Drive:
- After you reboot your phone for the first time (or after a factory reset) you will be prompted to Restore from HTC Backup
- Tap the option and sign in with the desired backup account
- Access the history menu and select the desired backup
- Tap Next
- Sign in with your Google account and allow to connect to Drive
- Once the files have been restored, tap Next and if necessary, follow any additional on-screen steps to complete the process
Create and Restore Local Backups
Back Up Contacts to SD Card or Storage:
- Launch Phone
- Go to the Phone tab
- Tap Menu > Manage contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts
- Choose to Export to SD Card or Export to phone storage
- Choose an account, and tap Yes if you wish to protect the file with a password
- Tap OK to confirm and create the backup file
Restore Contacts from SD Card or Storage:
- Launch People and tap Menu
- Tap Manage Contacts > Import / Export contacts
- Choose to Import from phone storage or Import from SD card
- If needed, select an account and highlight the backup file
- Tap OK
- If the backup file is protected by a password, enter it and tap OK
Back Up Messages:
- Open Messages
- Tap Menu
- Tap Backup / Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > Back up SMS
- Optionally, you can set a password for the backup file
- Lastly, enter a name for the file and tap OK to confirm
Back Up Messages via Email:
- Launch Messages
- Tap Menu > Back up / Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > Back up SMS via email
- Choose if you want to protect the backup file with a password
- Send the email and attachment to your own address
NOTE: To restore messages, simply open the email, download the file attachment, and import it using Messages.
Back Up Dictionaries:
- Open Settings
- Tap Language & Keyboard
- Tap HTC Sense Input
- Select Personal dictionary and tap Menu
- Tap Back up to storage or Back up to email
- Tap OK to confirm
Back Up / Restore Tasks:
- Open Tasks
- Access the task list and tap Menu
- Tap Import / Export
- Select to Export to SD Card
NOTE: To restore tasks, launch Tasks, tap Menu > Import / Export and select Import from SD card
