Android 2.2 Froyo will soon become available on many of the HTC devices later on this year. According to Android Central from HTC, if you have owned an HTC device that was launched this year, more than likely you will see an upgrade to the Froyo version.

The HTC devices that are eligible for the Froyo upgrade are the Verizon's HTC Droid Incredible, Sprint's HTC EVO 4G, HTC Desire and T-Mobile's myTouch 3G Slide and should be available around the second half of 2010. One of the first phones to get the Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade will more than likely be the Google Nexus One and this comes from a Tweet that states, "Froyo will be available to the Nexus One users in the next few weeks".

Re: Android 2.2 Froyo coming to select HTC devices

My question is "Why is the Motorola DROID, the largest and most popularly sold Android Device, always left on the back burner?"

It's crazy. The Moto DROID has passed the sells of any Android device, 10% of Verizon Wireless customers own a Motorola DROID, and of those 10%, 75% switched from another carrier to get the phone. It seems like it is always the LAST device to get an update...hmmm...
