Transferring contacts from one platform to another could seem like an overwhelming task, especially given the dissimilarities between iOS and Android or the HTC Sense 5 user interface. Assuming that you wish to share your iPhone contacts with your HTC Desire 700, you might find yourself in a difficult spot. The good news is that this task is actually quite easy, given the right tools. Below you will find 4 easy methods of transferring contacts from an iPhone to the HTC Desire 700. Each method has its own advantages, so pick the one you find most convenient.

Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

If you own an iPhone, then chances are that you also have iTunes installed on your computer. You can use the aforementioned software to easily share your contacts with the HTC Desire 700. NOTE: if iTunes is missing, you can download the client from the official Apple website.

  1. Open iTunes on your computer
  2. Connect your iPhone to your PC using the proprietary USB cable
  3. After your iPhone has been successfully connected, it should appear in iTunes. Click on it to view the handset's summary page
  4. Go to the "Info" tab and mark the check box associated with "Sync Contacts With"
  5. From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
  6. Log in with your Google account if you haven't done so previously. Alternatively, click "Configure" and select a previously set Google account
  7. Click "Apply" to allow iTunes to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account
  8. On your HTC Desire 700, register the same Google account, if necessary. (Go to "Settings" > "Account")
  9. Allow the Google account to sync the contacts with your Android smartphone

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

iCloud is another service that you might've already used with your iPhone. If you did, then chances are that your contacts have already been backed up onto your iCloud account. As such, you can use iCloud to import these contacts over to the Desire 700.

  1. On your computer, open your Internet browser and visit www.icloud.com
  2. Log in with your iCloud username and password
  3. Go to "Contacts" to view the list of backed up contacts
  4. Select the contacts that you wish to export and then click the icon depicting a cog wheel (bottom-left)
  5. Select "Export vCard", and allow your computer to download the VCF file containing the previously selected contacts
  6. Once the VCF file is downloaded, you can import it to "Google Contacts". Alternatively:
  7. Connect your Desire 700 to your computer via USB. Copy the VCF file to your phone's "sdcard" directory, open the "People" app > go to the "People" tab > select "Manage contacts" > "Import / Export contacts" > import from storage

Using the "Bump" Application to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

"Bump" is an application that allows you to easily transfer contacts from your iPhone to the Desire 700 without the need of a computer. Everything is done via cloud, so you will need an active Internet connection on both devices.

  1. Visit the Play Store on your Android handset and download the "Bump" app
  2. Using the iPhone, download the same application from the App Store
  3. Open the app on both smartphones and allow permissions
  4. On your iPhone, go to the contacts section and select the ones that you wish to transfer
  5. After the "Bump now!" label appears in the top-right corner, you can gently bump the smartphones together
  6. Tap the "Connect" button on both handsets to begin the transfer. A copy of the iPhone contacts should now be sent to the Desire 700

Using "My Contacts Backup" to Transfer Contacts:

My Contacts Backup is another app that enables you to transfer contacts without the need of a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store on your iPhone and download the "My Contacts Backup" app
  2. Open the app and tap "Backup" in order to create a VCF file containing your iPhone contacts
  3. When the backup is complete, select "Email". This will create a new email containing the VCF file as an attachment
