Clear an Apps Cache / Data:
NOTE: If one of your applications doesnt work as it should, you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the apps cache, or data.
WARNING! Clearing an apps data will delete all personal information stored within the app, including profiles, saved games, high scores, login and credit card information, settings etc. As such you should first try fixing the problems by clearing only the cache.
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Under Phone, tap Apps
- Swipe to All and select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the cache didnt solve the problem, tap Clear data > OK
Reboot in Safe Mode to Remove an App:
NOTE: In case youve installed a third party app that prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall it from Safe Mode. When you reboot your phone in Safe Mode all third party apps will be disabled.
- With the handset turned on, press and hold Power
- Tap and hold the Power off pop-up
- At the Reboot to safe mode prompt tap Restart
- Once the phone reboots, a Safe Mode label will be shown in the lower-left area of the screen
- Access the phones Settings menu
- Swipe to Phone and tap Apps
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the app you want to remove
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit safe mode, press Power and reboot your device as you would do normally
Clear the Cache Partition:
NOTE: When wiping the cache you can solve various issues with your phone. It can have similar results as a factory reset, with the benefit that none of your personal data stored on the internal memory will be lost.
- Turn off the phone
- Press and hold Volume Down
- Press and release Power
- Once you see a black screen with red and blue lines of text, release Volume Down
- From the menu, press Volume Down repeatedly to highlight Reboot to bootloader
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Use the volume rocker to navigate to, and highlight Boot to Recovery Mode
- Press Power to select the option
- Press Volume Down until you highlight Wipe cache partition
- Press Power to select the option
- Once the cache partition is wiped, Reboot system now should be highlighted
- Press Power
