Back Up Application Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
  4. If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Google account” > “Add account” and sign in with your Google account
  5. Turn on “Backup account” and “Back up my data”

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Make sure the Butterfly 3 is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Tap “Apps” on the home screen and access “Settings”
  3. Tap “Backup and reset” under “Personal”
  4. Tap “Backup account”
  5. Select “Google account” or “HTC account”
  6. Turn on “Automatic Backup” to allow daily automatic backups over Wi-Fi
  7. To back up manually, tap “Back up now”

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the Butterfly 3 to your Mac via USB
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down and make sure “Media device (MTP)” or “disk drive” is enabled
  3. Open the file explorer on the Mac
  4. Locate the desired media files on the phone, and copy them
  5. Paste the files in the desired backup location on the Mac
  6. After the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “Trash can” icon
  7. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Butterfly 3 and PC
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down and enable “Media device (MTP)” / “disk drive” if necessary
  3. Open File Explorer on the PC and locate the media files on your phone
  4. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on your computer
  5. After finishing the transfer, eject the phone storage via the system tray, and safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
