Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your third party applications doesn’t work as intended, crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the application’s cache / data.

WARNING! Clearing an application’s data will result in the deletion of all your personal information stored within the app, such as credit card and login information, profiles, high scores, save files etc. As such, it’s recommended to clear the app’s cache to avoid losing data.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Apps”
  4. Go to the “All” tab
  5. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache”
  6. If necessary, tap “Clear data” and press “OK” to confirm

Wipe the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone doesn’t work properly or runs out of storage inexplicably, you can try fixing this by clearing the cache partition. This can have similar effects as a factory reset, without losing any of your personal data.

  1. First you’ll need to turn off the device
  2. Next, press and hold “Volume down”
  3. Press “Power” and release the key after the phone vibrates
  4. From the “hTC download mode” menu, press “Volume down” to highlight “reboot to bootloader”
  5. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  6. Press “Volume down” to highlight “Boot in Recovery Mode” and press “Power”
  7. When an exclamation mark appears on a black screen, press and hold “Power”, then press and release “Volume Up”
  8. In the “Android system recovery” menu, press “Volume down” to highlight “wipe cache partition”
  9. Press “Power”
  10. Once the cache is wiped, ensure “Reboot system now” is highlighted and press “Power”

NOTE: If wiping the cache partition didn’t solve the issues, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can factory reset the device instead.
