NOTE: For instructions on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files from the HTC Desire 630, visit this thread.
Restore App Data:
- Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup and reset > Restore from HTC Backup
- Follow the on-screen steps to select a backup account and complete the restore
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts & Sync
- If needed, sign in with the Google account containing the backup
- Go to the accounts sync settings and make sure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync all
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC Desire 630 to your PC via USB
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Turn on Media device (MTP)
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups
- Copy the backups and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory or the folder(s) they originate from
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Mac:
- Establish a USB connection between the Mac and HTC phone
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen and enable Media device (MTP) if necessary
- On the Mac, open the file explorer
- Locate the media files backed up on the Mac and copy them
- Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the Media folder
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone by dragging the virtual storage drive from the desktop and dropping it into the trash can
- Its now safe to disconnect the phone from the USB cord
