Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Tap Backup account
- Select an account or alternatively tap Google account > Add account and sign in with your Google account
- Turn on Back up my data and Backup account
Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:
- Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings and scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup and reset
- Choose HTC Account or Google Account
- To allow your phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, turn on Automatic backup
- To back up your contacts manually, tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the HTC device and computer
- Enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on the phone
- Copy the media files from the phone and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC device to your Mac via USB
- Turn on Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the phone storage
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and into the Trash can
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB port
