Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
  4. Tap “Backup account”
  5. Select an account or alternatively tap “Google account” > “Add account” and sign in with your Google account
  6. Turn on “Back up my data” and “Backup account”

Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:

  1. Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Open the apps drawer
  3. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
  4. Tap “Backup and reset”
  5. Choose “HTC Account” or “Google Account”
  6. To allow your phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, turn on “Automatic backup”
  7. To back up your contacts manually, tap “Back up now”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the HTC device and computer
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on the phone
  4. Copy the media files from the phone and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
  5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC device to your Mac via USB
  2. Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media files on the phone storage
  4. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the phone storage
  5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and into the “Trash can”
  6. Safely disconnect the device from the USB port
