Turn On Battery Saver Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Power”
  4. Tap “Power saver” and tick the boxes next to the options you want to enable
  5. Tap the “Power saver” switch to enable the option

Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Under “Phone” tap “Display & Gestures”
  3. Tap “Brightness level” and if necessary, disable “Adaptive brightness”
  4. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
  5. For additional options, tap “Screen timeout” in the “Display & Gestures” menu
  6. Select a lower timeout value, such as “15 seconds”

Turn Off Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap the switches associated with “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” to turn the features OFF
  3. For GPS options, scroll to and tap “Location”
  4. Then tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. To disable Wi-Fi Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Then tap “Mobile network sharing” and turn off “Mobile Hotspot”

Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: In case your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Mobile data”
  3. Tap “Network mode”
  4. Enable “GSM only”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts & Sync”
  3. Select an app to disable background process
  4. For additional sync options, select an account type and account

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes and can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Phone”
  3. Tap “Apps” and go to “Downloaded”
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” to turn it OFF
  5. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available for download:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “About”
  3. Tap “Software information” > “Check now”
  4. If updates are available, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply them (NOTE: the update process will require a reboot)
