Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Tap Backup account
- Select an existing account or tap Google Account > Add account
- Sign in with your account
- Enable Back up my data and Backup account
Back up Contacts on an HTC or Google Account:
- Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Tap Apps the home screen
- Open Settings and scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup and reset
- Select Google Account or HTC Account
- Enable Automatic backup to allow the device to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi
- To back up contacts manually, tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC U Play to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Next, locate and copy the desired media files on the phone storage
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC device to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the notification area
- Open the File Finder on the Mac
- Use the File Finder to locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the phones virtual drive from the desktop and into the Trash can
- You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
