NOTE: For instructions on how to back up app data, contacts, and media on the HTC U11, visit this thread.
Restore App Data:
- Make sure the HTC device is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup and reset
- Tap Restore from HTC Backup
- Follow the on-screen prompts and select an account to complete the process
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts & sync
- Sign in with the desired backup account and go to the accounts sync options
- Ensure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync now
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC phone to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and transfer the desired files on the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory or the folder(s) from where they originate
- After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC U11 to your PC via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media backup files
- Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) from where the yoriginate
- Once the transfer is done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the Trash can to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the HTC device form the Mac
