Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Go to Personal and tap Power
- Access Power saver
- Tick the boxes associated with the power saving options you want to enable
- When ready, tap the Power saver switch to enable the feature
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Settings:
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to and tap Display & Gestures
- Tap Brightness level
- If necessary, disable Adaptive brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
- For timeout options, access Screen timeout and select a lower value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phones connectivity features OFF when not actively in use in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings
- Tap the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi switches to turn these features OFF
- Access Location for GPS settings, then tap Mode and enable Battery saving
- To disable Hotspot, return to Settings and tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mobile network sharing and disable Mobile Hotspot
Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Go to Mobile data
- Access Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the devices battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Apps
- Switch to Downloaded
- Select the desired app
- To turn the app off, tap Disable
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall > OK
Change Sync Settings:
- Open Settings
- Go to Accounts & Sync
- Select an account and change the available settings to reduce sync
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: Software updates can improve battery life and thus its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to and tap About phone
- Access System updates and tap Check now
- If available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (the update process will require at least one reboot)
