Back Up App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Backup and reset”
  3. Tap “Backup account”
  4. Select an existing account or tap “Google Account” > “Add account”
  5. Enable “Back up my data” and “Backup account”

Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:

  1. Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Go to “Backup and reset”
  4. Select “HTC” or “Google account”
  5. To allow the phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, enable “Automatic backup”
  6. To back up your contacts manually, ensure “Contacts” is checked then tap “Back up now”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the HTC device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone storage
  5. Coy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once done, you can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Back Up Media Files on a Mac:

  1. Connect the HTC device to the PC via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer”
  3. Launch the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media files on the phone
  4. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the Mac
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the “trash can”
  6. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB port
