I had just deleted a text message when my Kyocera Switch_Back suddenly shut itself off. I had been doing a lot of texting up till then, but fail to see why that should cause the phone to spontaneously shut down or reboot.

Re: Phone reboots itself
It could have been a problem with your battery. If you take the battery off is there any corrosion or "crud" on the metal parts?

Re: Phone reboots itself
Well, the phone and battery are brand new. I'll check for that if it does it again though. Thank you.

Ever try doing a master reset?
Call your service provider for the code you need to use to initiate the master reset.
good luck,

Re: Phone reboots itself
I took the battery out and checked it. There's no grime or anything on the contacts.
Would a master reset erase all my pictures, contacts, ringers and games?

Re: Phone reboots itself
OK. If it continues to reboot itself, I'll get the code for a master reset. Thank you.

Re: Phone reboots itself
DO NOT do a master reset on your phone unless your carrier specifically tells you to...you run the risk of creating more problems than you fix.
If you've had you phone less than 30 days return it to the deal and get it swapped out.
Most devices with full QWERTY keypads experience these reboot 'problems'. Its actually a safety measure built into the software so that if an error is produced the software shuts down rather than attempting to continue and risk corrupting data.
If you were doing a lot of texting then the software probably hung and produced an error. If it continues to happen then do what I stated above.

Re: Phone reboots itself
I have had the same issue with my phone. I've had mine for about 3 wks now doesn't seem to cause any problems just reboots when I press hang up key occassionally. I'm not sure if it is just after msging or if it has also happened after phone calls, no info ever seems to be missing after reboot though.
