I bought a cable off of ebay as well, and I too am getting the same problem. I think we are missing a driver but after 2-3 hours of searching I have yet to come up with a working solution.
Is it a www.bargaincell.com clear cable?

Thats an option, I also called bargaincell...not surprisingly it sounded like someones home phone and they gave me a second number to call...and asked me to do it Monday. Not even an 800 number something out of CA

Um... Well, hey, I have some drivers that might work. Email me if you want me to send them to ya!

Here is the link to the correct driver for bargaincell cable
http://www.datacablehelp.com/samsung/v200/
Select the OTI cable. or directly at:
http://www.datacablehelp.com/oti_6858.zip
Point to these files with the Windows Wizard installation.
However - this fixes the USB-UART Tx Line issue and my DataPilot does detect the l1400 correctly - but - I still cannot get it to connect to the phone.
Ideas?

Ebay, Bargaincell -
I'd like to know if anyone has ever gotten one of these clear plastic, OTI chipset based USB cables to work.
Very frustrating - I guess I will have to buy the real thing soon.

I got it very cheap - now I know why. But I did receive a lot of other accessorices that do work so I can't complain all that much.
I will keep investigating over the next couple of days and report back.
Regards to all on the forum. Joe

You folks are lifesavers! Well, ok technically it wasn't a life-saving situation but you ended my search for the cable at only hours instead of hours and hours...once I finally checked the threads in here.......thanks so so much!!
