I just got an 8100 after Verizon online ran out of 8000's. I was wondering if my camera was malfunctioning or if the pic quality is just awful? I know it's only a 1.3mpixel but I've used 1.- cameras before and the quality was not this poor. My pics look so grainy it's like a veil of TV static on them. Can anyone with an 8100 let me know if this is normal?
    Thanks

unfortunately, all the pic's I've taken and see taken with the new 8100 are that bad. In the ideal conditions, it will take a fairly nice shot. The 8000 takes a lot better pic's. Damn shame they are messing the 8100 up so bad. It started out sounding like a really good phone.

Bad pictures? I have taken a few recently in various lighting and they have all turned out really well. I think the pics have been the best quality I have seen on camera phone.

compare the 8100 to the 8000 or even the 7000, and then you'll see. I have both the 8k and the 7k, my friend has the 81k....I've seen the difference, especially when sending them to a computer for print out. There is a BIG difference.

My 8000 doesn't take real good pictures either unless you are in ideal conditions then it does really well. The problem with that is finding ideal conditions all the time.

I will agree with finding ideal conditions for any phone is sketchy at best. I will also say that my friend with the 8100 is finding that with a bit of messing around with settings, he is getting better pic's.

That is what I thought when I saw the pics the 8100 produced. We took a picture of a television screen from far away and you could still see what was happening on TV
