MicroSD problem on CU500

I have a LG CU500, and i recently bought a 2gb Sandisk MicroSD memory card, and when I put it into my phone, it would not work, it said the card was not ready, but i found a fix for that, but now when the card is in, and i try to put songs or pictures on it, it says that i have insufficient memory, and when I checked the memory left on the card, it said I have 1 byte of information on a 2 GB card.. HOW does that happen??

So what did you do to fix the 'card not ready' problem?

did you try reformatting the card 1st so the phone recognizes it?
