About 6 months before my contract expires, my screen cracked. I'm reactivating an old phone. I do like the ringtones that came with ithe 9400, though. There's one in particular that I really want keep somehow. If anyone has this model, would it be possible to upload the ringtones? I saw that someone did that with a chocolate.
I can't see anything at all on my screen so I don't know if there's any way for me to retrieve it.

Re: anyone with a vx9400?
You could use bitpim to retrieve the ringtones from your phone. That would be one way. I know that you wont need to see your screen with bitpim just plug the phone in and you should be able to see everything on the phone. I have the 9400 and did use bitpim, im not sure where my data cable is at the moment though. If you are not sure of bitpim, then do some searching and read up on it.
I will try to find my data cable and see if I can get it for you, but may take some time.
Im curious, what specific tone did you like from the stock selection on the 9400?

Thanks, I'll try bitpim. I have the Verizon data cable so I guess that'll work. I'm not sure what the name of the ringtone is but I know that I haven't heard it on any other LG's.

Re: vx9400 screen cracked
I'm not sure. I hooked the phone up with the cable. The phone was detected on the right port. Then I tried to get data from the phone. I checked off ringtones and it seemed like it was working but nothing came out. I pretty much tried everything but just couldn't extract anything.
How do you like the Dare? Would you have gotten something else if you'd waited or did you really like that phone?

Re: vx9400 screen cracked
Im not sure why it didnt work. I right Click on it then backup or save or whatever it is. And it saves the files that way. I have backed up alot of things from my Dare.
And as for the Dare, I really like it. I did alot of researching before I got it. I got it about 2 or 3 days before the Versa came out. I had enough info on the Versa to go ahead and get the Dare. And I havent been disappointed. I did go into the Verizon store to play with the Versa to see if it would be something that I would want to trade for, and it was not. The Dare is the phone for me, and the Versa is staying at the store. lol.
I was trying to decide between the Voyager, the Dare, and the Omnia.
The Omnia won hands down, but I couldnt afford the extra 30 per month data plan. So it was down to the dare and Voyager, and the voyager was too big. And I really liked all the things that the Dare does.

Re: anyone with a vx9400?
Ok, so I tried Bitpim as well, and turns out the stock ringtones are in the firmware. Thats why they cant be seen with bitpim. Sooo turns out you cant back them up that way. The only way to get them is to record them from the phone, and transfer them that way. So are you able to do that?
