Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

iTunes is a great and very popular music player, but the app offers many other tools, such as the ability to sync contacts with a Google device. You can synchronize your iPhone contacts so that you can transfer them over to the LG Optimus GJ. This approach requires a computer with iTunes installed and Internet access.

  1. Launch iTunes on your PC
  2. Connect your iPhone to your computer via USB
  3. Once it connects, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it
  4. Go to the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
  6. Type in your Google account's login details. If you've already registered a Google account in iTunes, click "Configure" and select the desired account
  7. Click "Apply" and the syncing process will commence
  8. On the LG Optimus GJ, log in with the same Google account, and set it so that it syncs contacts with your device. NOTE: to add an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

The iCloud back up service gives the option of exporting contacts in the form of a vCard file. Assuming that you've used the service before, your iPhone contacts should already be backed up on your iCloud account. For this method you are require to have a computer with Internet access

  1. Visit https://www.icloud.com/ on your computer and sign in with your iCloud account
  2. Click "Contacts" to view the list of contacts, and select the ones that you want to export
  3. Click the cog wheel icon located in the bottom-left side, and select "Export vCard"
  4. A VCF file will be downloaded on your computer
  5. Import the file to "Google Contacts", or, connect your LG device to your computer via USB and copy the file to the "sdcard" directory. Then, launch the contacts application and import the vCard's contents using the "Import" function

Transferring Contacts Through My Contacts Backup:

If you don't have access to a computer then you can rely on certain applications to get the job done, such as "My Contacts Backup". This is an iOS app that has the ability to back up and transfer contacts to a different smartphone via email. To do this:

  1. Go to the App Store and download "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup"
  3. A VCF file will be created, containing your contacts. Tap "Email" to attach the file to a new email
  4. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  5. On the LG Optimus GJ, open the email and download the vCard attachment to import the contacts through the phonebook app

Transferring Contacts through "Send Anywhere":

Last but not least, you can transfer your iPhone's contacts to the LG Optimus GJ using the "Send Anywhere" application. This app can transfer multiple file types and contacts through a P2P connection, so there's no need for computer access.

  1. Open the Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on the LG device
  2. From the App Store, install the same app on your iPhone
  3. Launch the application on both smartphones
  4. From the iPhone, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  5. Mark the contacts that you want to transfer and tap "Send"
  6. Lastly, select a method of transfer. For instance, tapping "Generate QR Code" will do that, and you can scan the code with your LG Optimus GJ's camera to commence the transfer process. You can also tap "Receive" on the LG device and input the transfer code randomly generated on the iPhone
