Enabling Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Battery"
  4. Select "Battery saver" and tap the switch associated with "Power saver" to turn on the feature
  5. Choose the battery percentage at which the saver mode should enable itself
  6. Mark or clear the check boxes associated with the features that you wish to be enabled / disabled while the saver mode is active, such as "Auto-sync", "Brightness" etc.
  7. To access additional settings for the battery saver mode, tap the "Settings" icon associated with "Brightness" and "Screen timeout"

Lowering the Screen Brightness and Adjusting the Timeout Duration:

  1. Press the "Menu" button from a home screen
  2. Tap "System settings" > "Display" > "Brightness"
  3. Drag the "Brightness" slider to a lower level
  4. Tap "Screen timeout"
  5. Select a lower value, such as "15 seconds"

Disabling Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot and GPS:

The features mentioned above are four of the most battery demanding connectivity features on a smartphone. As such, it's highly recommended that you keep these features disabled while not in use. To do so:

  1. While viewing a home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Tap "Tethering & Networks" > "Mobile HotSpot"
  4. Clear the check box associated with "Mobile HotSpot"
  5. Press the "Back" button twice, until you reach the "Settings" menu
  6. Scroll to "Personal" and tap "Location access"
  7. Clear the check box next to "GPS satellites"
  8. Return to the home screen and swipe the "Status" bar down
  9. Tap the switches next to "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" to disable these features

Changing the Sync Settings for Applications:

  1. Press "Menu" while on a home screen
  2. Tap "System settings" and tap "Accounts & sync" under "Personal"
  3. Clear the check box associated with "Auto-sync data"
  4. Select an application to reduce the sync interval for each individual app

Disabling Background Data:

  1. While on a home screen, press "Menu" and select "System settings"
  2. Tap "Mobile data"
  3. Press the "Menu" button
  4. Clear the "Restrict background data" check box

Minimizing the Use of Third Party Apps:

  1. Press "Menu" from the home screen
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Device" tap "Apps"
  4. Choose the application that you wish to edit
  5. To turn off an app, tap "Disable". Alternatively, you can tap "Uninstall" to completely remove the application

Switching from 4G Connectivity to 2G:

NOTE: this guide works only if LG has released a new software update that improves battery life or fixes potential bugs that might affect your phone's battery performance. Otherwise, if no update is available, the steps below will give no results.

  1. From the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "System", tap "About phone"
  4. Tap "Update Center" > "System updates" > "Check now"
  5. If a new software update is available, follow the on-screen instructions in order to download and apply
