Transferring Contacts Using iTunes:

iTunes is a great tool, allowing users to sync contacts from an iPhone with a Google account. Synced contacts come with contact pictures, name, email address, homepage, contact notes and any other details stored within the contact. For this method, you are required to have Internet access through a computer with iTunes installed.

  1. Launch iTunes on your computer
  2. Connect your iPhone to the PC via USB
  3. After it connects, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it to view the summary page
  4. Access the "Info" tab
  5. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box, and choose "Google Contacts" from the drop-down list
  6. Enter your Google account's log in details. If you've already registered a Google account before, click "Configure" and choose one from the list
  7. Click "Apply" and iTunes will start syncing contacts
  8. On the LG L40, register the Google account used in iTunes. If you need to add the account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  9. Lastly, allow Google to sync contacts with the LG L40

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

The iCloud service includes options to export contacts. If you've used iCloud on your iPhone before, the contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. By accessing it using a computer, you can export these contacts in the form of a vCard file.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer, and visit https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Log in with your iCloud account
  3. Click "Contacts"
  4. From the list of contacts, select the ones that you want to export
  5. Click the button shaped like a cog wheel, and select "Export vCard"
  6. A VCF file will be downloaded on the computer
  7. Import the file to "Google Contacts", or connect the LG L40 to your PC via USB, and copy the vCard file to the "sdcard" directory. Then, launch the people application and import the vCard file's contents using the "Import / Export" function

Using "My Contacts Backup" to Transfer Contacts:

If you don't want to transfer your contacts using a computer, then you can rely on third party applications in order to do so. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app with the help of which you can transfer contacts via email.

  1. Launch the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the app and tap "Backup"
  3. Once the VCF file is created, tap "Email" to attach the file to a new email
  4. Enter your Gmail address as the email's recipient, and send it
  5. On the LG L40, open the email and download the VCF file
  6. Import the file's contents using the contacts app and the "Import / Export" function

Transferring Contacts Through "Send Anywhere":

Send Anywhere is an iOS and Android application that can be used to transfer contacts and various other file types through a peer-2-peer connection. For this approach, you don't need access to a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and download "Send Anywhere" on the iPhone

  3. Open the application on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
