Enabling and Managing Battery Saving Mode:

  1. From the home screen, press the "Menu" key
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Battery"
  4. Tap "Battery saver" > "Turn Battery saver on"
  5. Select the battery percentage at which the saving mode enables itself
  6. Mark / Clear the check boxes associated with "Auto-sync", "Bluetooth", "Vibrate on touch", in order to customize how battery saving mode works

Lowering the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Press the "Menu" key while on the home screen
  2. Tap "System settings" > "Display"
  3. Tap "Brightness"
  4. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease the screen brightness
  5. Tap "Screen timeout" and select a lower value, such as "15 seconds"

Disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HotSpot and GPS:

NOTE: It's highly recommended to disable all connectivity features when not in use, especially Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS, as these features can have a big impact on your phone's battery performance. To do so:

  1. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" key
  2. Tap "System settings" > "Tethering & Networks"
  3. Tap "Mobile HotSpot"
  4. Clear the check box associated with "Mobile Hotspot"
  5. Press the "Back" key to return to the "Settings" menu
  6. Tap "Location access" under "Personal"
  7. Clear the check box next to "GPS satellites"
  8. Return to the home screen and swipe the "Status" bar down
  9. Tap the "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" tiles to turn the features off

Changing the Application Sync Settings:

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" key
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Personal", tap "Accounts & sync"
  4. Clear the check box next to "Auto-sync data"
  5. To reduce syncing for individual apps, select the desired app

Disabling Background Data:

  1. Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
  2. Tap "System settings" > "Mobile data"
  3. Tap the "Menu" key
  4. Mark the "Restrict background data" check box

Minimizing the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: although you might not use all of your applications, some apps can still have an effect on your phone's battery performance, even if they're not in use. This is due to the fact that certain apps still run services in the background. As such, it's recommended that you disable or remove these apps in order to conserve battery life. To do so:

  1. Press "Menu" while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Apps"
  4. Choose the desired application
  5. Tap "Disable", or alternatively, tap "Uninstall" if you wish to completely remove the app

Switching from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

  1. From any home screen, press "Menu"
  2. Tap "System settings" > "Networks"
  3. Scroll to "Tethering & Networks"
  4. Tap "Mobile network" under "Network"
  5. Mark or clear the check box next to "Use only 2G Networks"

Updating to the Most Recent Software Available:

NOTE: Following the steps below can improve your phone's battery life only if a new software update is available, which fixes potential battery life issues, or improves the phone's power management. Otherwise, if no update is available, following the steps below will have no effect.

  1. Press the "Menu" key while on a home screen
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "System", tap "About phone"
  4. Tap "Update Center" > "System updates"
  5. Tap "Check now". If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it
