Sync iPhone Contacts Using iTunes:
NOTE: With iTunes installed on a computer connected to the Internet, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with your Android device.
- Launch iTunes on the computer
- Connect the iPhone to the PC using the Lightning connector
- Click the iPhone in iTunes
- Access the Info section and enable Sync Contacts With
- Select Google Contacts from the drop-down menu
- Sign in with your Google account, or click Configure and select an existing account
- Click Apply to start the sync
- Once the sync is done, switch to the LG X5, register the same Google account used in iTunes, and allow the account to sync contacts with your LG device
Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:
NOTE: If the contacts on your iPhone have been already backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer with Internet connectivity and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.
- Launch the Internet browser on the PC
- Head down to https://www.icloud.com/
- Sign in with your iCloud account and access Contacts
- Select the contacts you want to share and click Settings
- Click Export vCard
- Wait for the vCard file to be downloaded on the computer, then perform one of these steps:
- Import the vCard to Google Contacts, or:
- Connect the LG X5 to your computer via USB, copy the file to the phone storage, and import it using Contacts
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: While the methods above require access to a computer, you can alternatively use third party apps to transfer your contacts, cross-platform, without requiring a computer. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer iPhone contacts via email.
- Go to the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
- Open the app and tap Backup
- After the backup file is done, tap Email
- Ensure the email contains the vCard file as an attachment
- Then, send the email to your own address
- Switch to the LG X5, open the email, and download the vCard attachment
- Import the vCard to your phonebook via Contacts
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app you can use for transferring iPhone contacts. The app is available on Android and iOS, and uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer contacts and other types of files without requiring a PC.
- Visit the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Go to the Google Play Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Launch the app on both devices
- Tap Send > Contacts on the iPhone
- Select the desired contacts and tap Send
- Lastly, select a transfer method. For example you can tap Receive on the LG X5 and manually enter the transfer code generated on the iPhone, or tap Generate QR Code on the iPhone and scan the code with the LG devices camera to start the process
