How-to: LG K4 (2017): Manage Contacts, Caller Groups, and the Call Log

Create a Contact:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Tap “+”
3. Choose to store the contact on the “SIM”, as a “Phone contact” or to sync it with “Google”
4. Enter the contact’s phone number, name, and other details in the appropriate fields
5. Tap “Save”

Import Contacts:

1. Open “Contacts”
2. Tap “Menu”
3. Tap “Manage contacts” > “Import”
4. Under “From”, choose to import contacts from “Internal storage”, “SIM” or “SD card”
5. Under “To”, select “Phone” or “Google” and press “OK”
6. Select the contacts you want to import or tap “Select all”
7. Tap “Import” > “Yes”

Export Contacts:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Manage contacts”
3. Tap “Back up”
4. Select “SIM”, “Internal storage” or “SD card” under “To”
5. Tap “OK”
6. Select the contacts you want to export, or tap “Select app”
7. Tap “Export”
8. Tap “Yes” to confirm

Assign a Contact to Speed Dial:

1. Launch “Phone”
2. Access the “Dial” tab
3. Tap “Menu” > “Speed dial”
4. Select the dial pad number you want to use
5. Tap the contact you want to associate with the dial pad number

Delete Contacts:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Tap and hold the desired contact
3. Tap “Delete contact”
4. Tap “Yes” to confirm

View and Clear the Call Log:

1. Launch “Phone”
2. Access “Call logs”
3. To view more details on a call log entry, tap it
4. To clear the call log, access “Call Logs”
5. Then tap “Menu” > “Clear all”
6. Tap “Yes” to confirm

Create a Caller Group:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Go to “Groups”
3. Tap “Menu” > “New group”
4. Select an account to sync the contacts with
5. Enter the group’s name and optionally, select a group ringtone
6. To add contacts to a group, tap “Add” and select the desired contacts
7. Tap “Save” to confirm

Add Contacts to an Existing Caller Group:

1. Open “Contacts”
2. Access “Groups”
3. Tap the group you want to add contacts to
4. Tap “Menu” > “Edit Group”
5. Tap “Add members”
6. Select the desired contacts and tap “Add” to confirm
