Back Up App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Phone Management”
  4. Tap “Back up my data” under “Google Backup”
  5. Ensure the “Back up my data” switch is enabled

Back Up Contacts to an LG Account:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab if necessary
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Phone Management”
  4. Tap “LG Backup” > “Backup & restore”
  5. Tap “Back up data” and select the SD card
  6. When/if prompted, sign in with your LG Account
  7. Select “Personal data” and deselect the other options
  8. Expand the “Personal data” folder and ensure “Contacts” is selected
  9. Tap “Start” to begin the backup
  10. Once completed, tap “Done”

Back Up Contacts to SD Card:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Phone Management”
  4. Tap “LG Backup” > “Backup & restore”
  5. Tap “Backup data” and select “SD Card” if necessary
  6. Select the items you want to back up
  7. Tap “Start” and wait for the “Backup completed” pop-up
  8. Tap “Done”

Back Up Media Files:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. In the “General” tab, tap “backup & reset” under “Phone management”
  3. Tap “LG Backup” > “Backup & restore”
  4. Select “Media data” and deselect the other options
  5. Expand the “Media data” folder and select the desired files
  6. Tap “Start” to begin the backup
  7. Once completed, tap “Done”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the LG G6 to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media sync (MTP)” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Navigate to and copy the desired media files (or .sbf backup files) on the phone storage
  5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
