Back Up App Data:
- Open Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Tap Backup & reset under Phone Management
- Tap Back up my data under Google Backup
- Ensure the Back up my data switch is enabled
Back Up Contacts to an LG Account:
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab if necessary
- Tap Backup & reset under Phone Management
- Tap LG Backup > Backup & restore
- Tap Back up data and select the SD card
- When/if prompted, sign in with your LG Account
- Select Personal data and deselect the other options
- Expand the Personal data folder and ensure Contacts is selected
- Tap Start to begin the backup
- Once completed, tap Done
Back Up Contacts to SD Card:
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab
- Tap Backup & reset under Phone Management
- Tap LG Backup > Backup & restore
- Tap Backup data and select SD Card if necessary
- Select the items you want to back up
- Tap Start and wait for the Backup completed pop-up
- Tap Done
Back Up Media Files:
- Open Settings
- In the General tab, tap backup & reset under Phone management
- Tap LG Backup > Backup & restore
- Select Media data and deselect the other options
- Expand the Media data folder and select the desired files
- Tap Start to begin the backup
- Once completed, tap Done
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the LG G6 to your computer via USB
- Enable Media sync (MTP) / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to and copy the desired media files (or .sbf backup files) on the phone storage
- Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
