WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted. This includes contacts, media files, downloaded content, apps etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values.

Master Reset via Settings:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. If necessary, switch to Tab view
  3. Go to the “General” tab
  4. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Phone management”
  5. Select or clear the “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore” check boxes
  6. Tap “Backup account” and sign in with a backup account or create one if necessary
  7. Tap “Factory data reset” under “RESET”
  8. Review the Warning pop-up and choose whether or not the “Erase SD card” too
  9. When ready, tap “Reset phone”
  10. If your phone is protected by a PIN / password, enter it and tap “OK”
  11. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset” to confirm

Factory Reset Using Hardware Buttons:

NOTE: In case your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can reset the phone by performing a combination of button presses.

  1. First make sure your phone is powered off
  2. Then, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
  3. At the “LG logo” quickly release and re-hold the “Power” button while holding “Volume down” continuously
  4. At the “Factory data reset” option, release all buttons and tap “Volume down” to highlight “Yes”
  5. Press “Power” to confirm the highlighted option
  6. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” prompt, highlight “Yes” and press “Power” to confirm
