Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open the Settings menu
- Go to General
- Scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Battery & power saving
- Enable Power Saving and change the desired options related to the feature
- Lastly, select a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically
Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Launch Settings
- Go to the Display tab
- Scroll to Basic settings
- Tap Brightness and drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing your apps/accounts sync options to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts & Sync and disable Auto-sync data
- Scroll to Accounts and select an account to change the sync settings
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the device, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab and scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Apps and go to Downloaded
- Tap and hold the desired application
- To turn the app Off, tap Force Stop / Disable
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: By disabling your phones connectivity features when they are not in use such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth - you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Go to the Networks tab
- Tap Connectivity > Tethering
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and set the toggle OFF
- Go back to Settings and disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi by tapping the toggles
- From the General tab, scroll to Personal and tap Location (GPS)
- Tap Mode and select Battery saving (networks only)
Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Connectivity and tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Disable Smart Settings Unused at Home:
- Launch Settings
- If necessary, access the General tab
- Scroll to Smart functions
- Tap Smart settings and set the option OFF
