Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of our apps freezes, crashes, doesn’t work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try solving these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal information stored within the app will be deleted, including settings, save files, user profiles, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the cache.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone management”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Go to “Apps”
  5. Select the desired application
  6. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  7. If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check WARNING above)

Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Scroll to “Phone Management” and tap “Storage”
  4. Go to “Internal storage” and wait for the device to finish calculating the data
  5. Tap “Cached data” > “Clear”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the device instead.

Enable Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third-party app that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default. To reboot to safe mode:

  1. While on the home screen, press and hold “Power”
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. When prompted to “Restart in Safe Mode” tap “OK”
  4. Wait for the phone to reboot, and once done, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To remove an application, first open “Settings”
  6. Go to the “General” tab if necessary
  7. Tap “Apps” under “Phone management”
  8. Select the desired application
  9. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm
  10. Once the app has been removed, exit Safe Mode by rebooting your device as you would normally do
