Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If one of our apps freezes, crashes, doesnt work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try solving these issues by clearing the apps cache or data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all your personal information stored within the app will be deleted, including settings, save files, user profiles, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the cache.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Phone management
- Access the General tab
- Go to Apps
- Select the desired application
- Tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the cache partition didnt help, tap Clear data > OK (check WARNING above)
Clear the Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesnt work as intended and youre considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data.
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Storage
- Go to Internal storage and wait for the device to finish calculating the data
- Tap Cached data > Clear
NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didnt help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the device instead.
Enable Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:
NOTE: In case you have installed a third-party app that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default. To reboot to safe mode:
- While on the home screen, press and hold Power
- From the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- When prompted to Restart in Safe Mode tap OK
- Wait for the phone to reboot, and once done, you should see a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an application, first open Settings
- Go to the General tab if necessary
- Tap Apps under Phone management
- Select the desired application
- Tap Uninstall > OK to confirm
- Once the app has been removed, exit Safe Mode by rebooting your device as you would normally do
