WARNING! When you factory reset the phone, all your personal information stored on the device will be deleted. This includes apps, media files, contacts, ringtones etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values.
NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on backing up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.
Factory Reset via Settings:
- Open Settings
- Access Phone management
- Tap Backup & reset
- Clear or tick the boxes associated with Automatic restore and Back up my data
- Tap Backup account and select an account
- Tap Factory data reset
- Optionally, you can select to Erase SD Card too
- Tap Reset phone
- If necessary, enter your lock screen PIN/password
- When ready, tap Delete all > Reset
Factory Reset via Recovery:
NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesnt work as intended and prevents you from resetting the device via settings, alternatively you can reset the phone from Recovery.
- First, turn the phone OFF
- Then, press and hold Power and Volume down at the same time
- When the LG logo appears, quickly release and re-hold Power
- At the Factory data reset screen, release both buttons
- Next, press Volume down to navigate to and highlight Yes
- Press Power to confirm the highlighted option
- Then, when prompted to Erase all user data and restore default settings highlight Yes using the volume rocker
- Press Power to confirm
