WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all your personal data located on the phone will be deleted, such as ringtones and other media files, applications and downloaded content, contacts etc. Settings will be restored to factory values but data stored on the SIM and SD storage wont be affected.
NOTE: You can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up app data, and this thread for instructions on how to restore data on the device.
Factory Reset via Settings:
- Open Settings
- Go to Phone Management and tap Backup & Reset
- Tick or clear the check boxes linked with Back up my data and Automatic restore
- Tap Backup account
- Select the desired account
- Tap Factory data reset and optionally, select to Erase SD card as well
- Tap Reset phone and if your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your password/PIN to proceed
- Tap Delete all > Reset
Factory Reset via Android Recovery:
NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes or otherwise prevents you from resetting it using the method above, alternatively you can reset the device from Android Recovery.
- Make sure the phone is powered Off
- Press and hold Volume down and Power at the same time
- At the LG screen, quickly release and re-press Power
- At the Factory data reset screen, release the keys
- Use volume down to navigate the menu and highlight Yes
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- At the Erase all user data and restore default settings screen, use the volume rocker to highlight Yes
- Press Power one last time to confirm
