WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, personal data located on the phones internal memory will be deleted, including ringtones, media files, apps, contacts, downloads etc. Additionally all settings will be restored to factory values but data located on the SIM and SD cards wont be affected.
NOTE: Before you reset the device, you can check this thread for instructions on how to back up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.
Factory Reset via Settings:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Phone Management and tap Backup & Reset
- Clear or tick the boxes associated with Automatic restore and Back up my data
- Tap Backup account and select the desired account
- Tap Factory data reset
- Optionally, select whether to Erase SD card too
- If your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password to proceed
- Tap Delete all > Reset
Factory Reset via Android Recovery:
NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it via Settings, you can try resetting the phone from Android Recovery.
- First turn the phone Off
- Press and hold Power and Volume down at the same time
- At the LG screen, release and quickly press Power
- Release the buttons at the Factory data reset screen
- Press Volume down repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight Yes
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- At the Erase all user data and restore default settings prompt, highlight Yes and press Power
