Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps doesn’t work as intended, crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app cache/data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including personalized settings, user profiles, save files etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “General”
  3. Tap “Apps”
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Storage”
  5. Tap “Clear cache”
  6. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK”

Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your device crashes, freezes, or runs out of storage inexplicably and doesn’t work as intended, you can try resetting the phone, or alternatively, you can try solving these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have results similar to a reset without losing personal data from the device.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Phone Management”
  3. Tap “Storage” > “Internal storage”
  4. After the phone finishes calculating the data, tap “Cached data” > “Clear”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. In the Power Management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. At the “Reboot to Safe Mode” prompt tap “OK”
  4. Wait for the phone to finish rebooting. Once done, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be shown in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To remove an app, first open “Settings’
  6. Next access “Apps” and switch to “All apps” if necessary
  7. Select the desired app
  8. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  9. Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting the phone as you would do normally
