WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, your personal data located on the devices internal memory will be deleted, including ringtones, media files, apps, contacts, downloads etc. In addition, all the settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SIM and SD storage wont be affected.
NOTE: Before resetting the phone, you can check this thread for instructions on how to back up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.
Factory Reset via Settings:
- Launch Settings and go to Phone Management
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Clear or tick the boxes associated with Automatic Restore and Back up my data
- Tap Backup account and select the desired account
- When ready, tap Factory data reset
- Optionally, choose whether or not to Erase SD card
- If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password and tap Continue to proceed
- When ready, tap Delete all > Reset
Factory Reset via Recovery:
NOTE: If your device crashes, freezes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it using the method above, alternatively you can try resetting the device using hardware buttons:
- Turn the phone Off
- Press and hold Power and Volume down simultaneously
- At the LG screen, release and quickly press Power
- At the Factory data reset screen release the buttons
- To navigate the menu, press Volume down repeatedly and highlight Yes
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- At the Erase all user data and restore defaults prompt, use Volume to highlight Yes and press Power
