Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app cache or data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including user profiles, custom settings, login information etc. To avoid losing personal data, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Open Settings
- Access General
- Tap Apps and select the desired app
- Tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt solve the issue, tap Clear data > OK
Clear the Phones Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or doesnt work as intended and youre considering a factory reset, alternatively you can clear the phones cache partition. This can have similar results to a factory reset without losing personal data from the phone.
- Open Settings
- Go to Phone Management
- Tap Storage > Internal storage
- Wait for the device to finish calculating the data
- Tap clear data > Clear
NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didnt solve the issue, visit this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone.
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you can try uninstalling the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party applications will be disabled by default.
- Press and hold Power on the home screen
- In the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power Off
- At the Reboot to Safe Mode prompt, tap OK (once the device finishes rebooting, a Safe Mode watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home scree)
- To remove an app, open Settings and go to Apps > All apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by pressing and holding Power and tapping Restart
