Hey guys, I'm thinking of making the switch to Linux on my laptop. I already got an Ubuntu disc, but my main concern is what I would have to do if I wanted to play PC games on it. That alone is the decision maker since I have a Steam account along with several games like Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, and Bioshock. So basically, I was wondering if anyone knew about a program or command I could use to play PC games seamlessly with no lag.

You can try to use "wine", it allows to run windows programs on Linux but it's 100% compatible.
Another option is to use a "virtual machine", if you have a high end computer you can have several vitual machines running windows inside of your linux box
