motorola v3i mms settings

Dear sir/madam,
I have just bought a brand new [ new old stock ] D&G motorola v3i, the phone works fine except for, i can't send or recieve photo texts, i have had this problem before with a v3i, it is something to do with the initial settings, i think,if i attempt to send a photo text it trys to work and always fails,when i sent these type of texts with my old v3i, it always stated on the phone GRPS active, this phone does not, could anyone help me.
