ok, i just recently got a motorola v400 and i really like it, but i have att service, and the phone is unlocked but from the cingular service. And i wanna be able to go online with it and get ringtones and all that stuff. How do i get att's mMode on this cingular phone? is there anyway i can just input the ip address's or do i have to take it to the att place, or can nothing be done and i just cant go online with it?

did u buy the phone from att or from cingular? it seems like it was bought from att, i'm sure att locks all their phones, while the cingular phones are unlocked and do not have the Mmode browser...
if you bought the phone from cingular and got the att ppl to set it up for you, maybe you can take it to the cingular ppl and have them do the same...
have you called the ppl at cingular tech support?

no, i bought the phone brand new never used, but unlocked on ebay. I already had pre-exhisting att service and i just put my att sim card in, and im using the phone... but it doesnt have mMode cuz it was originally a cingular phone... It has cingular's internet service... and it wont let me go online with it....
Im just wondering if there is anyway i can, or if i go to the att store, if they can make it so i can connect with it through att to get ringers and different things...

go to the nearest at&t store and ask them what the browser settings need to be for your phone. they can give you the information that you need. Once you setup the connection settings that should work ok.

    Another option:

You can buy the USB cable for the V400(29.99 from motorola's site)... and reflash your phone using the latest flash update, as well as the latest flex software. Once you do this your phone will no longer be branded, and you should be able to have it setup however you like. Good luck with it.

PM me if you need anymore information.
