Hey I have a SLVR L7 and just got a 1G miniSD for it, got the card formated and I wanted to use its full capacity for MP3s can someone walk me through this? I have been on several sights over the last few hours and have learned lots of new stuff I never even knew I could do to the phone but have yet to find a thread to deal with this seamingly common and basic issue so I am forced to start a thread for it. ( since people title there threads "help..." with no reference as to what they are talking about it makes searching for info incredibly frustrating. thanks for your help. - mayhem66

Who is your provider? If Verizon, you have to get the Verizon VCast Sounds kit ($30). Windows Media Player v10(v11 works too) is req'd to convert songs into .WMA's and snyc to phone. I tried copying my mp3 onto the Flash card but wouldnt play. The only thing that DID work without the Sounds kit was copying pictures over to the SD Flash for wallpapers.

Other providers I dont know about.

I have Cingular, I went to the Cingular store and asked about it and they said I had to hack my own phone to get more songs..

True, I have the 30,000 limit on my phone right now (though I'll never use that much) the hack is pretty easy given you already have the most important part ..... the cable, all the software and walkthroughs can be found at slvrhackers.net and be sure you follow the walkthough to a t being it will mention things you do and don't do being your phone is from cingular. BTW this voids your warranty so be sure to back everything up in case you need to return it to cing.

Here's the itunes link SLVRHackers - You are trying to access a restricted area. and the walkthrough for installing itunes SLVRHackers - Content the second half of the walkthrough you shouldn't need if your phone is cingular and came with itunes. To access the first link you need to register.
