Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Moto M to your computer via USB
  2. Turn on “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media Device (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
  4. Copy the files you want to use on your phone
  5. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” / “Alarms” directories
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device”
  4. Tap “Sound & Notification” and select the desired ringtone
  5. Tap “OK” to confirm
  6. Optionally, you can also choose to turn “Also vibrate for calls” On or Off

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the Sim card or the phone’s internal memory.

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Tap and hold the contact you want to customize
  3. Tap “Edit”
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Sound & Notification”
  4. Tap “Default notification ringtone”
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
