Sync iPhone Contacts with Google Using iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then you can sync the account data and contacts with your Moto G5 Plus.
- Connect the iPhone to your computer using the Lightning cable
- Launch iTunes on the computer
- Go to info and enable Sync Contacts With
- From the drop-down menu, select Google Contacts
- Sign in with your Google account, click Configure and select an existing account
- Click Apply to start the sync
- Once the sync is complete, switch to the Moto G5 Plus and sign in with the same Google account used in iTunes
- Allow the account to sync contacts with your Motorola device
Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:
NOTE: if your iPhone Contacts are already backed up on your iCloud account, you can sign in to your account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.
- Launch the Internet browser on the computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/
- Sign in with your iCloud account
- Go to Contacts and select the desired contacts
- Click Settings > Export vCard
- Once the vCard has been downloaded on the PC, follow one of these steps:
- Open the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to Google contacts, or:
- Connect the Moto device to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use Contacts to import it
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: Although the two methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.
- Go to the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
- Launch the app and tap Backup. This will create a vCard file containing your iPhone contacts
- Once the vCard is done, tap Email
- Compose a new email ensuring the vCard is attached to the email
- Send the email and attachment to your own address
- On the Moto device, open the email and download the vCard attachment
- Import the vCard to your phonebook via Contacts
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Another third party app you can use is Send Anywhere, available on Android and iOS. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to share contacts and other file types without requiring a computer.
- Go to the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Access the Google Play Store and install the app on the Moto G5 Plus
- Launch the application on both handsets
- On the iPhone, tap Send > Contacts
- Select the desired contacts
- Tap Send
- Lastly, select the desired transfer method and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
