Hi, I'm new. Just stopped by to get some enthusiasts' support on upgrading decision.

I take somewhat good care of my cellphone. Only have had about 3 or 4 brands/model in my whole life. Typically stay loyal to just one phone even if i dropped it in water or lost it.

I currently have a BlackBerry Curve 8310. There are 3 big issues with it that I have.
    1. Slow processor. My text messages have taken up too much RAM and I am actually texting faster now. Also, I'd like to keep most of the text I send and receive. So the new phone needs to have a faster processor.

    2. I'm starting to feel like the phone is just too fat. The width doesn't really matter, but the depth and weight seems too much for me now. This is explainable because I've lost quite a few pounds and my pants are less baggy. So the phone really sticks out when I wear jeans that fit me better.

    3. This isn't that great of an excuse for upgrading, but it is something I keep in mind. My Ipod Touch (newest, 64gb) really dominates as the entertainment device. So the new phone doesn't really require much apps or music compatibility or whatever.

    Overall, the phone must have:
    -Bluetooth for my car
-(slightly)Faster processor than the Curve 8310
-(slightly)More RAM than the Curve 8310
-Preferably a full keyboard (I suck at typing with a touchscreen) but open-minded to touchscreens
-lighter weight and slimmer phone depth (front to back)
-ATT phone or easy alternative instructions to work with the SIM chip

    It does not need:
    -Camera
    -WiFi
    -aux input/output
    -SD card
(but I don't mind if it comes along with it)

And obviously it has to be sturdy, durable, and user-friendly.
I like Blackberry so far. But it does tend to be too business-marketed/purpose.

Also, should I just get 1 phone for both phone-usage and entertainment or should I keep the Ipod Touch (which btw has issues I can live with but will be hard to sell)?

    Thanks for reading.

Check out the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc or the Galaxy S2. I was thinking of getting the Arc before but ended up buying the Xperia Play on timtechs instead. Both phones I have mentioned have great features.

Anything Android will be an upgrade, and a much better user experience.

I was a Blackberry user for 10 years.
The web experience on android blows anything on the blackberry away.
Same with the app selections. Plus the screens are bigger brighter and better.
Now, I'm the same way, very loyal, that's why I used BB's for so long.
However, now that I have switched, I realized that I was missing out on a whole lot!

And don't worry about the touchscreen, just like ANY new input method, it will take some getting used to, but I actually prefer it now over the BB keyboard.

    Re: Cellphone Upgrade

I have an Ipod and have used touch screens before. I know I'm not a touch screen guy, and I'm pretty sure of it.

Something about my fingers (or more properly: thumbs) covering the screen just doesn't get to me. That and the whole natural oil our body makes.

I hate when people say: "Oh you'll get use to it." Hopefully I won't hear that in 20 years when AT&T releases cellular anal probes with Bluetooth...

Again, I would like the same smartphone, but just a little bit smarter (RAM and processor) and a bit less business-like or super duper features. I just want quality hardware.
